The Florian's Gate ... the only one remaining from the orginal seven gates. It was build in 1307 and it constitued the main entrance gate to the former capital of Poland. It was called Porta Gloriae. Through this gate all the rulers and kings were entering Krakow.

From the outside it had lowering bars and a drawbridge, and from inside - oak doors. It is crowned with a donjon. It is 34.5 meters high and inside there is St Florian's, the patron of the city, bas-relief.

From the other side of the gate, we can see the Barbican, witch which it was linked once with a stone neck destroyed during the defensive walls' demolition.

In the gate, there is the St Mary's painting, in front of which the king Jan Sobieski was praying before his departure for the victorious battle at Vienna.
